The November 6 Trinity University Alumni webinar presents a conversation with David Otey ’81, a nationally sought-after presentation coach. Join the webinar and learn…

  • Why any presenter must put Connection before Content and Empathy before Evidence
  • How to use a three-part story model to create interest that sustains attention
  • Simple techniques for making stories concise, compelling, and winning support for your idea, business or cause

Kay Casey, assistant vice president for Alumni Relations and Development, will engage David Otey in conversation.

When David Otey graduated from Trinity in 1981 with a double major in Radio/Television/Film and Physics, he had visions of creating science-themed TV programs. Drawing on his physics training, David migrated to the technical side of broadcasting. He spent 25 years in broadcast engineering and becoming a nationally recognized expert on digital radio technologies. The underlying desire to help others best gain support for their ideas and projects remained a personal interest. Now in his second career, David is an expert on storytelling as an essential element in technical and business presentations.  David is invited by national conferences throughout the year to present his approach to their members and professional colleagues.
