About this Event
One Trinity Place, San Antonio, Texas 78212
Theatre performance "Imogen Says Nothing" by Aditi Brennan Kapil. The play is simultaneously a love letter to the theatre and a condemnation of its historical treatment of marginalized people. The action takes place in and around London during the late 16th and early 17th centuries, with a cast of familiar names, including William Shakespeare, Richard Burbage, and others, but as Kapil notes in her Rules of the Universe the casting should be as subversive and historically inaccurate as possible and "William Shakespeare is the least important person in the play." Ultimately this is a comedic examination of the erasure of women and the violent ramifications of such erasure.
This is a hybrid event. Only the first 35 students, faculty, and staff that are permitted to be on campus will be allowed into Stieren Theater for in-person performances. Virtual performances can be found here.
