The eagerly anticipated Summer EXL Symposium 2023 is set to take place on July 20 and July 21, providing a platform for nearly 225 Summer Undergraduate Research and Internship students to present their findings and valuable engagements in experiential learning to include internal and external research as well as internship experiences. Organized by the Center for Experiential Learning & Career Success and Academic Affairs, this symposium serves as a celebration of student achievements and marks a significant milestone in their educational journeys. There will be nearly 200 presentations from our students, who completed 10 weeks of experiential learning opportunities under the guidance of nearly 80 Trinity faculty and staff members.

Student and mentor-led research was conducted under the sponsorship of research institutions, granting bodies, and fellowships such as Murchison, Mellon, McNair, the National Science Foundation (NSF), and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The Summer EXL Symposium 2023 will feature an impressive array of both oral and poster research presentations. These students have delved into diverse fields of humanities and science opportunities and explored topics that push the boundaries of knowledge. From cutting-edge scientific breakthroughs to innovative advancements in various disciplines to deep dives into cultural and regional storytelling and even highlighting music and the performing arts, attendees can expect a showcase of intellect and ingenuity.

In addition to the research program, the Summer EXL Symposium 2023 also highlights the robust impactful internship programs offered by Arts Letters and Enterprise (A.L.E.), Donahue, Mexico the Americas and Spain (M.A.S.)/Alvarez, Stumberg Accelerator, and Trinity affiliated private donors. Through these internships, students gain invaluable real-world business and non-profit experience, bridging the gap between academia and industry. The symposium also provides an opportunity for these talented individuals to share their insights, challenges, and success stories, contributing to the growth and advancement of their respective fields.

The highlight of the event will be a keynote panel discussion delivered by TU Alumni who are former Summer EXL  participants. Their accomplishments and profound insights are expected to inspire and motivate attendees.
