Trinity University - Ruth Taylor Art and Music, Trinity Pl, San Antonio, TX 78212

As part of the 2019-2020 Stieren Guest Artist Series, the Trinity University Music Department is pleased to present a concert by male soprano Robert Crowe. On the 400th anniversary of Barbara Strozzi's birth and in light of the discovery of a misattributed Strozzi composition, Crowe will present a concert of her works, augmented by those of of the Novarese nun, Isabella Leonarda, born just a year later in 1620. Both of these women managed to compose and publish music of unusual sensitivity and spirit in spite of restrictive societal norms.

The performance will be held in the Ruth Taylor Recital Hall at 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 27, 2019, and is free and open to the public. The Stieren Guest Artist Series is made possible by Jane and the late Arthur Stieren of San Antonio.
