As part of her Stieren Guest Artist Residency, the Jinjoo Cho presents a violin masterclass in the Ruth Taylor Recital Hall at 3 p.m. on Friday, March 29. The masterclass will feature members of the Trinity University violin studio and is free and open to the public.
To finish out her residency, Cho will perform with the Trinity Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, March 30 at 7:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall. The free concert features Cho on Dvorák's Violin Concerto.
Cho is exploring new ways to bring classical music to young audiences in Asia and North America. She has won a number of distinguished awards, including the Gold Medal at the 2014 International Violin Competition of Indianapolis, the First Prize and Orchestra Award at the 2010 Buenos Aires International Violin Competition, and first prizes in competitions in Montreal, China, and Aspen. She gave her Carnegie Hall debut with the New York String Orchestra in late 2015 and her Carnegie Hall recital debut in the Stern Auditorium in June 2016. She has recently made solo appearances with orchestras in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia.
