The Michael and Noémi Neidorff Art Gallery presents Robert Ziebell: Locations. Robert Ziebell’s photographic images of the vernacular architecture and natural wonders of the Keweenaw in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, where he has resided part time for over thirty years. The term “locations” refers to worker housing originally built by mining companies, which have been transformed over the years with an idiosyncratic array of styles and materials. Small photographs on canvas of these structures are interspersed with large-scale prints of the rugged landscapes of Lake Superior which surround the former mining towns.
