¡Pa’lante siempre! Conversation on the Legacy of César Chávez and Dolores Huerta
Thursday, March 21, 2024 6pm to 7:30pm
About this Event
One Trinity Place, San Antonio, Texas 78212
After the lockdowns and struggles of the COVID-19 pandemic, unions are gaining momentum. Workers are gaining the upper hand: from Amazon to Starbucks, to Hollywood writers and actors, and a revived triumphant United Auto Workers Union. In the Latinx community, this lucha/struggle has been epitomized in the workers' movement of César Chávez and Dolores Huerta. Mily Treviño-Sauceda, Executive Director & Co-Founder of Alianza Nacional de Campesinas, Inc., and Erika Prosper, San Antonio's First Lady and Co-Founder of the Latina Leadership Inst., will share their experiences with the past and current labor movement issues, how Latina/Latino/Latinx and Latin American workers are navigating a new post-pandemic world, and how the legacy of Chávez and Huerta is still an inspiration for all. Dr. Norma Elia Cantú will serve as moderator.
