A Conversation About Continuity and Change

Doug Brackenridge, professor emeritus, author of Trinity University: A Tale of Three Cities,, and J. Charlene Davis, professor and chair of the Department of Business Administration, will discuss various ways in which Trinity has endeavored to articulate and visualize its unique institutional mission in different geographical, cultural, economic, and educational contexts. Long before terms such as branding, marketing, target audiences, competitive advantage, and positioning became commonplace, educational institutions have been engaged in “selling their product” in a highly competitive environment. Utilizing insights from different disciplines coupled with illustrations of a variety of promotional efforts, Davis and Brackenridge offer a distinctive approach to a sesquicentennial celebration. Group questions and comments are welcomed.
