 rs in a Pennsylvania prison\, Faruq was released in 2019. While incarcerat
 ed\, he co-authored Brothers and Keepers with his brother\, acclaimed writ
 er John Edgar Wideman. Since his release\, he has worked to uplift and sup
 port formerly incarcerated communities. Professors Juyoun Jang and Kelly C
