In a special concert, YO-YO MA performs all six of J.S. Bach’s Suites for Solo Cello, music that has given him, in his own words, “sustenance, comfort and joy during times of stress, celebration and loss.” This concert is part of his two-year global initiative comprising 36 performances of the Bach Suites across six continents, with what he calls “days of action,” seeking “to put culture in action by bringing people together to address pressing social issues” and “invite all of us to think differently about the role of culture in society.”
Tickets for this event are no longer available, however we invite everyone to our free simulcast concert screening. For more information, please rsvp here.

The free outdoor simulcast screening of YO-YO MA’s The Bach Project performance will project the entire performance in real time at Mission Marquee Plaza.
Mission Marquee, with its large stage and screen, serves the community as a meeting place to enjoy various outdoor activities throughout the year including festivals, film screenings, arts & culture events, open-air markets and more.
The Mission Marquee Plaza, formerly known as the Mission Drive-In Theatre, officially opened in 2014. The facility is located on the Southside of San Antonio near Mission San Jose, which is one of San Antonio’s five historic Missions recently designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The area is rich in history and culture, and is considered to be one of San Antonio’s iconic gems.
For generations, many families locally and from the South Central Texas region gathered to watch movies when it served as a drive-in theater.
